Printing Timetable

Q: How long will it take for your job to be completed?

This is a question we hear every day and it is never the same. It depends on many variables.

1- Artwork / Proof Process: Is this a new job? If so, are you providing it to us already set up or are we doing the setup? If this is a repeat job, are there any changes being made?

If this is a repeat job that we have done before and there are no changes, you will not need to proof the job. This means we can take your order and then send it straight back to the pressroom and on our schedule for printing. You will still need to refer to the other variables listed below.

If the order is anything besides an exact repeat of a job we produced before, then you will have to sign off on a PROOF. How quick we can get you a proof depends on how many jobs are in line in front of you and how much work has to be done on your job. For most jobs, the turnaround for a proof is usually 1-3 days. If your job requires complete setup and is a complex job, we will have to work with you to set a deadline for when we will have a proof to you.

After you have the proof in hand, then it depends on how quickly you get it back to us and if there are still changes to be made.

Once you have signed off on your proof, you are put in the printing rotation. And you can refer to the next variable.

2. Complexity of Job:

Size of paper, quantity, number of ink colors, and how much finishing work has to be done will determine the time it will take from start to finish to get your job done.

Most jobs will take no longer than 3 days to print and finish. (once signed off on)

We will have to consult with you on new jobs to work out a definite timetable, especially when the job is large in quantity or has complex bindery work involved.

3. How many jobs are in front of you:

Once you have signed off on your proof, you then go onto the printing schedule. We typically print in order of when jobs are received. How many jobs are ahead of you when you get placed on the schedule could be different from day to day. This is another reason it is important to get your proof back to us as soon as possible, so that you get in line. Otherwise, more jobs can come in and pass you. This is an area we can not control from day to day. However, we do offer you another option:

RUSH JOBS: You have the option of Rush services for an additional charge. This involves overtime for employees that must stay after hours to get your job produced. These charges will vary depending on the size and complexity of the job.

The standard answer for this question, when reflecting the variables above is to allow 5-7 working days for one color jobs and 7-10 working days for 2-4 color jobs. This is only a standard and as you can see by the variables above will reflect on your own personal job specifications. We will work with you in the beginning to give you an accurate delivery date.
